ZAN + DAVE

The bouncer looked at Dave, asked if we were together and I said "yes". It was an instant match.

I first met Dave outside of an HBO premiere party — he was getting haggled at the door because he forgot to RSVP, but I rolled up with a girlfriend and was instantly let in. The bouncer looked at Dave, asked if we were together and I said "yes". It was an instant match.

A year and a half later we were getting milkshakes in Brooklyn and he proposed to me with my grandmother's ring.

The wedding was in Hudson. My oldest brother walked me down the aisle, while my middle brother sang "Morning Has Broken". My father died when I was young, so to have both my brothers bring me into this next stage in life was really special — I'll never forget it.

We rented old rickshaws and bikes and rode from the church to the reception which was at this really cool raw space with installation art, music, and tons of mixed media. We wanted to celebrate in a place of art and culture, but we liked that Basilica had an industrial twist.

Dinner was catered by Fat Radish and everyone feasted on Montauk fish tacos, pulled pork sliders, quinoa salad with cardomom and red peppers and nori dusted tuna with wasabi and avocado puree... to die for.

Later we had an espresso and scotch bar and everyone started dancing like crazy. We road tripped to the South West for our honeymoon and closed it out with the bull riding world series in Vegas. Yup, I love my man.
