Gabrielle + Kaila

We just wanted to be surrounded by people we love, share our vows, and have a kick-ass party.

We first met during high school when Kaila came into the pharmacy where I worked. When she walked into the pharmacy, I was convinced she was gay.  She had a t-shirt and loose fitting jeans on with a hemp necklace.  And she had this swagger. I was out in high school, and she was stunning, so I was immediately intrigued.  But, I was told that she had a boyfriend and was just “athletic.”  We laugh about that now. It’s so hard to pinpoint what our first date was because we slowly made this transition from being to best friends for a number of years.  Kaila had always been my rock.  Her presence always made me just feel relaxed and calm.

Shortly after we started dating we were driving home one night and I told Kaila she had to pull over so that I could tell her something, and that is when I told her I was in love with her.  She took such a huge risk in telling me how she felt initially, that it felt good to put that out on the table.  She returned the sentiment.

For our wedding, we just wanted to be surrounded by people we love, share our vows, and have a kick-ass party.  It was at Kitz Farm in New Hampshire which has a beautiful farmhouse, a big red barn, a freestanding bar and beautiful grounds with a big hill. We had breakfast with everyone at the inn and had hair and makeup done all together as a big group.  My dad passed away when I was in high school, so my brother walked down the aisle to the instrumental version of “Sort Of” by Ingrid Michaelson.  At the afterparty, there was TONS of dancing. I don’t actually remember what time we all ended up going to bed.
