Sarah + Liz
We were set up on a blind date by our mutual friend, Bill Clegg. I thought Liz was adorable, but didn't understand why half her hair was buzzed. We met at Pescadero in SoHo, and didn't stop talking until the restaurant finally closed four hours later. Liz was different: familiar yet totally new, and from the beginning we had a sort of understanding I'd never shared with someone before. She was also very spirited. And funny. Five months later, she said "I love you" for the first time. She proposed to me on my birthday while we were skiing in Vail with a ring based on Schlumberger design. A few months later I proposed to her in Central Park.
We got married in New York City in May. The morning of our wedding we got up early. I went to a barre class and had a massage. Liz went running.
Our ceremony was officiated by Liz's brother at the One Central Park, followed by dinner at the Gramercy Tavern. There were only 22 people in attendance. We walked each other down the aisle to Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love With You".
